So last Saturday I decided to get back into the workout routine.
For the past month I have been extremely lazy. I haven't been working out...I haven't been overly focused on eating right. I have really cared that much either.
I did notice that this was taking a toll on my attitude and drive. It always does...this is nothing new. For most of us...I already know the answer...I just fight it at times. And for the past month or month and a half, I have been the lazy guy that doesn't care.
So back to Saturday...I woke up and was not particularly motivated....No real plan for the day...didn't have much work to do. I had a cup of coffee, fed the kids and then actually had a bowl of beef stew Rachael had made in the crockpot the night before. ha ha The funny thing is that the bowl of beef stew kinda made me feel a bit more energized and I decided that I would go out to the garage and do a workout.
I pondered the thought for a few moments and decided that if I was going to go workout, I would have to do the hardest workout I know...Kinda like punishment really. I do this alot...I don't workout for a spell...and then choose the hardest workout possible to punish myself for being lazy. So I pulled out the INSANITY program...
Then I got to thinking...what the heck am I going to do...INSANITY for 2 months...Nah..I was still a bit in lazy and unmotivated mode...so I just decided to commit right then and there to JUST finishing this workout and then see how I felt afterwards...knowing good and well that I would feel great...but I wasn't ready to commit yet...like I said..I have been a bit lazy.
Well I finished the PURE CARDIO workout and felt damn good ( I knew I would...). I decide then and there that I would take it one day at a time and see what happens. I knew I need to switch it up or I would get bored. Since Rachael and I had amassed a large collection of Beachbody workout DVD's, I figured I could do a different workout each day of the week and not ever feel bored or unmotivated...So that is exactly what I did...
Saturday - Insanity
Sunday - T25
Monday - Combat
Tuesday - Insanity: Max 30
Wednesday - Insanity: THE ASYLUM
Today - I HIT AN EFFING WALL!!!!!
DANG IT!!! Just when I was rolling on my workouts, I came home last night (Wed.) and felt like I had a sore throat and started to feel feverish. You know what I mean...where you feel like it is freezing, but it in reality is a pretty warm day. I assumed the sore throat was just too much talking during the day ( I am a real estate agent and I give presentations throughout the day), but once I started getting the pretend cold shakes...I knew it had to be more.
So I went to bed early hoping the next morning I would be fine.
I did not feel better this morning...I actually felt a little worse...plus I started to see white stuff on my throat!!! GREAT!!! I NEVER GET SICK!!! And I sure as heck don't want to miss my 6th day in a row of workouts.
So now I sit here at about 11:30am....sore throat...freezer shakes...achy body...called in to work....typing this stupid blog post...
I THINK I WILL GIVE IT A COUPLE HOURS AND THEN FORCE A WORKOUT...HE HE..TOTALLY BAD IDEA...BUT I DON'T CARE...I NEED TO GET THIS JUNK OUT OF MY SYSTEM...
